Undo a visit you started or completed by accident

Started a visit by mistake or completed it too soon? Use Cancel Start to put it back to scheduled with the timer reset, or Undo Complete to reopen it.

Tapping Start Visit on the wrong visit, or completing one before the work is done, is easy to do from the field. FreshFSM has two undo actions for exactly this: Cancel Start and Undo Complete. You will find both on the visit screen and on My Route in the mobile app, and on My Route in the web dashboard.

Cancel an accidental start

Use this when a visit was started by mistake and should go back to scheduled.

  1. 1

    Open the visit

    From My Route, tap the visit to open its actions, or open the visit screen directly.

    Tap Cancel Start

    It is the gray button under Complete Visit. The visit returns to Scheduled and the recorded start time is cleared. The Time section will read Not started yet.

  3. 3

    Start again when you are ready

    Tapping Start Visit later records a fresh start time, so the total time on the visit stays accurate.

Reopen a completed visit

All devices

Use this when a visit was completed too soon and the crew still has work to do.

  1. 1

    Open the completed visit

    Find it on My Route or open the visit screen from the job.

  2. 2

    Tap Undo Complete

    The visit goes back to In Progress. The completion time is removed, while notes, photos, and the original start time are kept.

  3. 3

    Finish and complete it again

    Complete the visit as normal when the work is actually done. If the visit should never have been started at all, tap Cancel Start next to put it back to Scheduled with a clean slate.

How to check it worked

  1. Open a scheduled visit and tap Start Visit.
  2. Tap Cancel Start. The status badge returns to Scheduled and the Time section reads Not started yet.
  3. Tap Start Visit again. The Time section shows the new start time, not the earlier one.

Yes. Cancel Start clears the recorded start time completely, and starting the visit again records a fresh one. Undo Complete is different on purpose: it keeps the original start time, because the work genuinely started and only the completion is being undone.
